We have children who have physical challenges. We help 21 families with basic needs and provide simple therapy and encouragement for their children.

We are also in a partnership with the government to provide primary school teachers training in special education. We are working in Blantyre Urban districts with 6 educational zones. We are providing three courses that cover inclusive education and information regarding a variety of special educational needs. We are training government school teacher trainers to take over leading the courses next year.

In February of 2020, the Montessori Training Center leaders met with our esteemed Education District Manager, Anita Kaliu, to offer educational scholarships to the Ministry of Education’s Primary School Teachers for courses in Inclusive Education. The Exceptional Children Courses Level 1, 2, and 3 are introductions to Special Education. In March of 2020, the project of training teachers began.

In June of 2021, four Ministry of Education teachers (Gladys Mangani, Edith Dambuleni, Caroline Seunda, and Modester Maziziwa) were selected to become teacher trainers alongside our M.T.C. Training Team Leaders (Stacey Matik& Memory Mantchombe).

In 2021 a Partnership Formed between the Ministry of Education-City of Blantyre, Phoenix International Primary School, and Montessori Training Center towards the towards the development of the Special Education Needs Department at H.H.I. Government School Primary School.
